Civil aviation experts met for 9th DGCA in Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia hosted 9th D-8 meeting of Directors-General and Expert Working Group on Civil Aviation (DGCA) from 18-19 May 2015 in Kuala Lumpur. Attendance by the Heads of Civil Aviation and high-level participation from the D-8 member states made the event more successful and result-oriented.
Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi, D-8 Secretary-General, called upon the Heads of the DGCA to ensure continuity of future work of the D-8 Civil Aviation. He underscored the need for critical assessment of past performance, action plan and implementation of programs under the framework of the MOU on civil aviation signed among the D-8 Member States in year 2007. He also emphasized the need for projects with specific time frame for implementation. 
The meeting will discuss, among others, Multilateral Air Services Agreement among D-8 Member States. Dr. Mousavi expressed confidence that the discussion on this agreement would pave the way forward for final outcome document. The meeting would also discuss effective linkage between task forces in the areas of safety and security, capacity building, commercial issues and air services management.
