1. In line with the initiation of Task Forces under WGIC, the proposal to identify the TFs was raised during the Fourth Meeting of D-8 Working Group on Industrial Cooperation (WGIC) on 10-12 November 2008, Bali-Indonesia.

The number of technology offers and requests being posted on the D-8 TTEN website needs to be increased in order to have more matchmaking opportunities. It was agreed that members should express their offerings and request through D8 TTEN in order to have more matchmaking opportunities and create a win- win situation. • ICT could be included as one of the topics covered by the Technology Cooperation Task Force with the name of the task force to remain as it is. After thorough deliberation it was unanimously agreed that ICT be included as one of the topics to be covered by technology cooperation taskforce, but the name of the taskforce should remain the same. • The meeting discussed the integration between the D-8 TTEN Web platform and the platform developed by Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey (www.d8coop.com) and underscored that it is vital for ensuring better cooperation between D8 member states, and there should be direct communication between the Secretariats responsible for the management of the two platforms for this purpose. All member countries are requested to register(d8cooop.com) and use actively the website to ensure the connection among all sectors in D-8. It was also agreed by member countries that Turkey should develop operational guidelines and share the guidelines with all member countries for comments, etc. • Member states are requested to review and give their feedbacks about the drafted protocol of ECSTRA D-8 Project, which aims to establish joint scientific and research program among D-8 countries. • A new project that aims at “Promoting Cooperation between Innovation Clusters and Alliances in D-8 Member States” through fostering the exchange of knowledge and best practices between those clusters based on the idea of the Cluster Development project would be explored. It was noted that not much has been done on promoting cooperation as regard to Innovation clusters and alliance in D-8 member States and members agreed that the proposal should be resubmitted and given the much needed emphasis it deserve before the next meeting); • After exhaustive deliberations, Nigeria offered the following technologies for potential commercial exploitation by member countries: ✓ Composition and method for treating ulcer ✓ Anti- snake vaccine from vegetable seed protein ✓ Development and production of typhoid vaccine ✓ Instant Texcote paint premix
