Director II Economy, Implementation and External Relations
Mohd Syafik Firdaus Hasbullah is a Malaysian diplomat who currently serves as Director-II in charge of Economy, Implementation and External Relations at the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8). Prior to joining the D-8 Secretariat in 2026, he served as Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad, Pakistan. He previously held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, including assignments in the Multilateral Political, Inspectorate, West Asia and Maritime Affairs divisions, as well as positions in the Ministry of Energy and related government institutions. He holds a Master of Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Diploma in Public Management, and a Diploma in Diplomacy. He also holds a Certificate in Turkish Language from Istanbul University.
