Turkey Reiterate its Full-Fledged Support to D-8

Dr. Seyed Ali Mohammad Mousavi, D-8 Secretary-General, had a courtesy visit to the Directorate General (DG) of the Civil Aviation of Turkey, in Ankara on 9 April 2014. Dr. Mousavi was given a warm welcome by Mr. Bilal Eksi, the DG of Civil Aviation. The meeting discussed about the potentials, opportunities, challenges, and threats of D-8 Organization in civil aviation cooperation and exchanged information and ideas on how to further enhance cooperation in the areas of civil aviation. The meeting also discussed time frame for implementation of the programme so that ?t will benefit the industry and businesses people.
Dr. Mousavi also visited the state-run Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) headquarters. In a meeting with Mr. Ibrahim Sahin, the Director General of TRT, Dr. Mousavi emphasis that news material and media sharing among the member states’ will promote the D-8’s visibility. “Before TRT, I have exchanged fruitful discussions with Anadolu Agency (AA) on the issue of increasing the visibility and leverage of the Organization through a closer cooperation before the next D-8 Summit end of 2014 in Turkey. “As I already pointed out, we expect, as initiator of D-8, Turkey’s contributions to cover D-8 activities and events more often. I believe by setting up such network, we will increase the visibility of the Organization and also promote cooperation among the Member Countries” he concluded. During his visit, Dr. Mousavi received information regarding the TRT’s history structure that was established in 1968 and launched 16 TV channels and 15 radios.
