2nd Board of Trustees Meeting of the D-8 International University held successfully

The Second Board of Trustees Meeting of the D-8 International University was held successfully on 7 July 2021.

High level officials from the D-8 Member States of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria and Pakistan attended the event. Officials of the D-8 Secretariat were also in attendance.

The Chair of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Mansour Gholami welcomed the delegates and declared the meeting opened. The D-8 Secretary General, Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari was represented by, Director I, Ambassador Nasir Aminu.

Exhaustive discussions took place among the participants. In particular, the following issues were discussed thoroughly and the meeting adopted some of the important documents tabled before it:

  1. Draft rules of procedure of Focal Points Committee
  2. Organizational chart of D-8 International University
  3. Network development program
  4. Tuition Fees
  5. In case of teaching literature or languages, the medium of instruction may be that particular language rather than English
  6. Permission to recruit faculty members for specific periods of time
  7. Permission to apply the employment regulations for faculty members and non-faculty members (staff) of Bu-Ali Sina University, as the Founding University
  8. Scholarship grant by the member states

The meeting was concluded successfully before adjournment and it was agreed that the next meeting will be held in 2022.

  1. The actualization of D-8 International University will be a remarkable and epochal achievement. Similarly, it will be a sustainable development gesture towards tertiary education policy (SDGs#4) under the D-8 Organization framework.
