Prof. Dr. Anis Bajrektarevic, the head of the Department for Strategic Studies at the International Institute for Middle East and Balkan (IFIMES) called on the D-8 Secretary General, Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari on Monday 24th of February 2020. Ambassador Ku Jaafar reviewed the various activities and initiatives of the D-8 Secretariat. They discussed the areas of mutual interests and the possibilities for future cooperation and for carrying out joint activities.

They agreed that the institute could provide academic assistance and expertise to the D-8 Organization to issue the D-8 Journal, in addition to the possibility of carrying out joint workshops and seminars on various current global issues of concern to both the D-8 Organization and the Institute. The joint workshops aim at discussing current economic and development related global issues.
