Secretary-General meets MTDC Officials on 31st August, 2018 in Istanbul-Turkey

The D-8 Secretary-General, Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari met officials from the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), namely Dato’ Norhalim Yunus, Mohammad Farish Nizar Othman and Ms. Zahariah Zabidin at the Mihrabad Grove, Istanbul on 31st August, 2018 at a business lunch. The Secretary-General informed the officials about D-8’s new endeavours aimed at supporting projects, especially in the field of high-tech and information technologies. He informed them about the KOMEPS Fintech’s D8 Payment Card Project and the MoU signed with the Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen Airport and called for joint projects with MTDC. The Officials in return, gave an extensive brief about MTDC’s new incubator programme, SYMBIOSIS and capacity program TENTRA both of which present unique opportunities for the graduates and young entrepreneurs of D-8 Member States. Both parties agreed to deepen collaboration in the near future.

MTDC is a technology enhancement body owned by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, a strategic investment fund of the Government of Malaysia. It aims at creating, nurturing and promoting technology companies in strategic areas in order to promote high performance culture through capacity building.
