Secretary-General calls on the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia

D-8 Secretary-General Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi called on Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia on 3 September 2014 at the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya.  
Dr. Mousavi informed the Deputy Prime Minister about the latest developments taking place within the D-8 Organization and conveyed that the D-8 Secretariat was working hard to implement the vision set by the D-8 Organization’s leaders. He sought his support and guidance in furthering the common agenda to consolidate the partnership and close cooperation among the D-8 Member States. 
Dr. Mousavi expressed confidence that Malaysia’s engagement with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation would continue to be more intensive than before and Malaysia’s role as the esteemed member of the Organization would be expanded to a level that may contribute to gaining the maximum benefit for the lives of the peoples. The D-8 Organization will progress much faster with the involvement of the private sector.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin thanked the Secretary-General for the update and assured him of the support and said that Malaysia as the founding member of the Organization remained committed and active in furthering the vision and objectives of the D-8 Organization. 
Dr. Mousavi also express his gratitute and thank to the esteemed Goverment of Malaysia for the hospitality throughout his visit to Malaysia. 
In addition to the call on Deputy Prime Minister, the Secretary General also met the Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Transport and higher officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
