D-8 Secretary-General Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi called on Mr. Abul Maal A Muhith, Minister for Finance of Bangladesh on 26 August 2014 at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Dr. Mousavi expressed confidence that Bangladesh’s engagement with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation would continue to be more intensive than ever before and Bangladesh’s role as the esteemed member of the Organization would be expanded to a level that may contribute to gaining the maximum benefit from this forum for our peoples.

Mousavi informed the Finance Minister of the latest developments on Industry and SMEs sector taking place within the Organization and conveyed that the Secretariat was working in full swing to implement the vision set by the Organization’s leaders. He sought the Minister’s support in furthering the common agenda to consolidate the partnership among the Member States. 

Minister Muhith thanked the Secretary-General for the update and assured him of all cooperation. He informed that Bangladesh as the founding member of the Organization remained committed and active in furthering the vision and objectives of the Organization in order to contribute to the uplift of life and living standards of the peoples of the region.
