Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi, D-8 Secretary-General, called on Datuk Mustapha bin Mohamad, Hon’ble Minister of Trade and Industry of Malaysia (MITI) on 20 May 2015 at the MITI’s office in Kuala Lumpur. 

Dr. Mousavi updated the Minister with the latest development taking place within the D-8 Organization, particularly trade, industry and SMEs cooperation. The Secretary-General expressed confidence that Malaysia’s commitment with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation would continue to be more intensive than ever before and the country might consider organizing and hosting sectoral meetings. He also informed that it was crucial to expedite implementation of PTA among the Member States and this required supports from the Member States in furthering the common agenda to consolidate the partnership among the Member States. 

The MITI Minister thanked the Secretary-General for the update and assured him of all cooperation. He informed that Malaysia as one of the founding members of the D-8 Organization remained committed in furthering the vision and objectives of the Organization in order to contribute to the uplift of life and living standards of the peoples of the region.
