Secretary-General addressed a seminar at Şehir University with the theme of “D-8: The Future Economic Powerhouse”

The Secretary-General of D-8, Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari has visited Şehir University on 19th of October 2018 on the invitation of the Dean of the School of Management and Administrative Sciences Department, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Faruk Aysan.

The Secretary-General addressed a large group of academicians and post graduate students at the seminar with the theme “D-8: The Future Economic Powerhouse.” He gave a brief information on the establishment, process and principles of the Organization. He also mentioned that the Organization has started its second life cycle which is the implementation phase with the 9th D-8 Summit held in October 2017 in Istanbul. In this context, he apprised the audience on the new projects proposals of the Organization such as the D-8 International University, D-8 Payment Card and the D-8 Designated Airports. The Secretary General further poınted out that D-8 will be the new Economic Powerhouse by the year 2050, referring to an article issued by the PwC.

The Q&A sessıon was very engagıng with the questions received from the academicians and students on several different areas of interest.

İstanbul Şehir University is one of the most prestigious and leading non- profit foundation universities in Turkey which is currently home to 4992 students, 18 percent of them are international students from different countries.

    I am Muhammad Umar from Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Currently, a student of Mba at Istanbul Sehir University i was also present in this session. The session was very well organized and delivered a lot of important knowledge.I just want to say that there is a little mistake in 3rd line of 2nd paragraph, the editor intended to write the word “Implementation” but by mistake it’s written “implemtation” in this article.
