Reception Dinner hosted by Pakistan Embassy for D-8 Ambassadors

The Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Ankara, Turkey hosted a reception dinner for Ambassadors of the Developing Eight (D-8) Member States on 10 April 2014.
At the reception, Dr. Seyed Ali Mohammad Mousavi, the D-8 Secretary-General said that the D-8 intra-trade volume amounted to USD 130 billion in 2013 and targeting to increase the volume of trade to USD 500 billion by 2018 in line with the Kuala Lumpur Roadmap. “At the moment the figure might seem large, but we hope to reach our goals,” he added. 
Dr. Mousavi informed the Ambassadors about upcoming D-8 meetings to be held in Turkey especially 9th D8 Summit which will be held in December 2014. He expressed that by organizing 9th Summit in 2014, D-8 will be completing its first phase of rotation of hosting Summit since its inception in 1997. “In the upcoming Summit, Turkey, will be assuming the Chairmanship again to as the initiator of the Organization, and I expect D-8 will be shifting from “coordination of policies” to “project implementation” phase, he added.
Meanwhile, Turkey also will be hosting the Ministerial Meetings on Energy, Trade, Agriculture, Tourism and Transportation in 2014. The D-8 Energy Ministers will gather in Kayseri on 28th May 2014 in and we are delighted that Turkey will be the host this first meeting on energy,” he concluded.
