A delegation from Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) paid a visit to the D-8 Secretariat on 30 April, 2018. The aim of the visit was to improve the Private Sector cooperation with the D-8 Organization. The delegation was led by Mr. Bahri Can Calisioglu, Special Advisor to the President. During the visit, Mr. Bahri presented a proposal from TOBB of holding the next D-8 FCCI meeting which has long been overdue. He also expressed the full support and commitment of TOBB to the D-8 and its readiness to organize more events such as Business Matchmaking and others. He also informed that TOBB is working on the feasibility of Investment model for all D-8 Member States that will be shared once it is ready. The Secretary-General, Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, welcomed the initiative and the interest of the TOBB to work in tandem with the goals of the D-8 Organization. He assured the delegation that the Secretariat was ready for the assistance. He also mentioned that a detailed proposal on their interests would help concretize the cooperation.

The Secretary-general also expressed the hope that their action will give the D-8 private sector cooperation the much-needed impetus.
