A delegation led by Dato’ Nik Mod Amin Nik Abd Majid from FCA Capital Sdn Bhd, Malaysia held a virtual meeting with the D-8 Secretariat on 23 March 2021. They discussed cooperation in industrial equipment, framework for gold backed crypto trade and regional trade platform among the D-8 Member States.

At the meeting, the Secretary-General reviewed the latest developments of the organization including the D-8 Designated Airport, the Barter Trading System and the D-8 Network of Pioneers for Research and Innovation (D-8 NPRI); which encompasses Twenty-six prominent universities and research institutes from the D-8 Member States. The Secretary General highlighted the plans to issue the D-8 Payment Card system that will allow the D-8 citizens to use their own local currency to make a payment. He also mentioned the D-8 Creative Economy and Financial Center that will be established in Malaysia.
From his side, Dato’ Nik Mod Amin briefed the D-8 Secretary-General, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, about various projects of their companies. He pointed out that they have already setup company to expedite industrial collaborations with Iran and Turkey and they are willing to expand their activities to other D-8 countries. They have produced various industrial, electronic communication and semiconductor products such as 5G router, electronic mask, water pumps, etc. In addition to industrial products, he also mentioned that they are very much eager to export food items, textile accessories and household items to D-8 Member States.

Furthermore, Dato’ Nik Mod Amin drew the attention to the Blockchain technology that is new in D-8 region and it is getting popular in D-8 Member States day by day. Based on the huge potential of this technology, he proposed to the D-8 Secretary General a new project proposal titled “GOLD BACKED CYPTO TRADE SETTLEMENT OF BLOCKCHAIN PLATFORM”. Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, welcomed the initiative and the interest of FCA Capital Sdn Bhd to cater to the goals of the D-8 Organization.
