The D-8 Secretary-General received a delegation from the World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI) headed by the President, Mr. Bulut Bagci at the Secretariat on 31st of August 2020.

During the visit, the D-8 and the WFTI signed a Letter of Intent in order to work together to support the tourism sector across the D-8 Member States. The LoI aims at promoting tourism, cultural and social activities as well as boosting people-to-people and business-to-business contacts and integrate the state and private institutions of the Member States.

Both Parties believed that the partnership between the two institutions will facilitate the accomplishment of the objectives set out in The Crescent Moon Initiative and the D-8 Comprehensive Tourism Roadmap, including the steady flow of streams of investments from across the world. The tourism sector is seen by both sides to be an enabler of prosperity, harmony, and unity among the D-8 Member States.
