D-8 Secretary General Dr. Seyed Ali Mohammad Mousavi had a meeting with H.E. MR. Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in Abuja on 15 August 2013.

Both figures exchanged their views on active involvement of the D-8 Private Sector to D-8 activities for the development of D-8 business relation and how to bring SMEs sectors more active in D-8 member countries. Dr. Mousavi conveyed brief information on the status of cooperation of D-8.

Secretary General underlined that Industrialization and SMEs play a significant role in all economies and are the key generators of employment and income, and drivers of innovation and growth. To expedite the developments in D-8 industrial production, D-8 Organization organized two high-level meetings between D-8 Central Banks so far.   

Moreover, a thorough discussion took place between Dr. Mousavi and Mr. Governor on the outcomes emanated from the previous meetings of the Governors of the D-8 Central Banks”. They discussed how to explore innovative policies and measures to confront the new external challenges to our national economies and some other salient points such as frequencies of meetings and establishment of a revolving Secretariat to facilitate the Group’s activities with the D-8 Secretariat, etc.
