Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi, the D-8 Secretary-General, called on Mr. Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu, Foreign Minister of Turkey on 27 February 2015 at the latter’s off?ce in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara.

The two interlocutors held a very fruitful and effective discussion in a cordial environment. Dr. Mousavi congratulated the Minister once again on his assumption of the high office of Foreign Minister and expressed confidence that his versatile and dynamic leadership would pave the way for successful foreign policy implementation of the country. 

The D-8 Secretary-General reiterated his confidence that Turkey’s engagement with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation would continue to be more intensive than ever before and Turkey’s role as the founding member of the Organization would be expanded to a level that may contribute to gaining the maximum benefit from this forum for our peoples.

Dr. Mousavi informed the Foreign Minister of the latest developments taking place within the Organization and conveyed that the Secretariat was working in full swing to implement the vision set by the Organization’s leaders. He sought his support in furthering the common agenda to consolidate the partnership among the Member States. 

Foreign Minister Çavu?o?lu thanked the D-8 Secretary-General for the update and assured him of all cooperation. He informed that Turkey as the founding member of the Organization remained committed and active in furthering the vision and objectives of the Organization in order to contribute to the uplift of life and living standards of the peoples of the region. He underscored the need for new impetus in order to put the Organization to a new height with its expanded vision. He appreciated the active role of the Secretary-General and commended his efforts in furthering the agenda of the Organization for the common benefit of the peoples.
