D-8 Secretary-General called on Foreign Adviser of Pakistan

Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi, the D-8 Secretary-General, called on Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security & Foreign Affairs of Pakistan on 06 March 2015 at the latter’s office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
The two interlocutors held a very fruitful and effective discussion in a cordial environment. Dr. Mousavi reiterated his confidence that Pakistan’s engagement with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation would continue to be more intensive than ever before and Pakistan’s role as the current Chair and founding member of the Organization would be expanded to a level that may contribute to gaining the maximum benefit from this forum for our peoples.
Dr. Mousavi informed the Adviser of the latest developments taking place within the Organization and conveyed that the Secretariat was working in full swing to implement the vision set by the Organization’s leaders. He sought his support in furthering common agenda to consolidate the partnership among the Member States. 
Foreign Adviser Aziz thanked the D-8 Secretary-General for the update and assured him of all cooperation. He informed that Pakistan remained committed and active in furthering the vision and objectives of the Organization in order to contribute to the uplift of life and living standards of the peoples of the region. He underscored the need for new impetus in order to put the Organization to a new height with its expanded vision. He appreciated the active role of the Secretary-General and commended his efforts in furthering the agenda of the Organization for the common benefit of the peoples.    
The same day, Dr. Mousavi called on Mr. Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan and informed him of the activities and developments taking place within the Organization. He also held meeting with the D-8 Commissioner of Pakistan.
