The Secretary-General of the Developing Eight Countries Organization for Economic Cooperation, His Excellency Ambassador Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, attended the diplomatic reception organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Republic of Türkiye in Ankara on 1 October 2022. The Diplomatic Reception was organized to commemorate the 62nd Independence Anniversary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Expressing his joy on the 62nd Independence Anniversary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Imam congratulated the Nigerian envoy to Türkiye, H.E. Ambassador Ismail Yusuf Abba, for the excellent organization of the reception. The D-8 Secretary-General was accompanied by his spouse and staff of the D-8 Secretariat.
Optimizing the opportunity of mingling with the diplomatic circle in Ankara, Ambassador Imam also expanded his networking by meeting envoys and representatives of the diplomatic missions of different countries, especially Ambassadors of the D-8 Member States and international organizations.
Being the steward of the D-8 Organization, of which Nigeria is also a member, Ambassador Imam was invited to the cake-cutting ceremony. The Diplomatic Reception was a lively one, which was also complemented by the Nigerian cultural showcase.
