D-8 Secretariat offered its felicitations on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Independence of Nigeria and wished the People and Government of Nigeria a happy anniversary. In a congratulatory note addressed to D-8 Commissioner of Nigeria, and copied to the Ambassador in Ankara, Secretary-General Widi Pratikto expressed his high appreciation for Nigeria’s active membership in the D-8 Organization since its inception back in 1997, and wished its further strengthening in the years to come. Pratikto also drew on the excellent relations between Nigeria and the D-8 Secretariat, including through the newly-established Permanent Mission to the D-8, and emphasized the anticipation for closer liaison and cooperation in the future.
