D-8 Secretary General, Widi Pratikto, met with the Turkish State Minister Hayati Yazici as part of the “2010 World Customs Forum” in Istanbul on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010.

During the meeting between Pratikto and Yazici, the two officials discussed ways to improve the D-8 Custom cooperation on issues related customs and technical cooperation activities.

Secretary General, Widi Pratikto, said that D-8 Organization is very much interested to find out whether Turkey would be willing and ready to engage and offer technical cooperation activities to D-8 members in areas such as Customs Valuation, Computerizing Custom Procedures and Customs Capacity Building Programs.

“It was a fruitful meeting with H.E Yazici, and I am confident that with his support, D-8 will be in better position to privide assistance to its member countries,” Pratikto commented on the meeting.
