Upon invitation by the D-8 Secretary-General, Ambassador Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, the D-8 Consuls General in Istanbul, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) attended a meeting on Wednesday, 6th of June, 2018 at the D-8 Secretariat to discuss the participation of D-8 Member States in the 6th OIC Halal Expo under the D-8 umbrella.

The Secretary General briefed the meeting saying that D-8 has been given a pavilion and other special facilities at the Expo at concessionary rate and thus wants all Member-States to participate therein in order to benefit from the concession.

All Member States welcomed the Secretary-General’s proposal and appreciated his efforts to promote the visibility of the organization. It was decided that Secretariat will coordinate with the organizers to finalize the special conditions for participation in the said Expo.
