A career diplomat, Mr. Ahmar Ismail joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1996. He has served in different capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
Among key positions, he was the Consul General at the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham, UK; Director General (Headquarters & Finance), Director (General Services) and Deputy Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, Pakistan; Director at the SAARC Secretariat in Kathmandu, Nepal; Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, Nepal. HeĀ also served as First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, Geneva.
Mr. Ahmar holds a B. Sc. Degree in Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology in Lahore, Pakistan. He also holds Diploma in Diplomacy and Negotiations from Netherlands Institute of International Relations in The Hague, Holland and Diploma in Persian Language from National Institute of Modern Languages in Islamabad, Pakistan.
