18th Session of D-8 Council of Ministers held on 3 November 2018 in Antalya, Turkey

The 18th meeting of the D-8 Council of Ministers took place on 3rd November, 2018 in Antalya, Turkey. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Mevlüt Çavusoglu, chaired the meeting and Foreign Ministers and delegations from all the D-8 Member States attended.

This is the first session of the Council of Ministers to be held after the 9th D-8 Summit that was held in October 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Council reviewed and discussed the latest and most important developments within the D-8 as well as the short and long-term goals, objectives and strategic plans.
The Council considered and endorsed the following documents:
a) D-8 Decennial Roadmap 2020-2030
b) Terms of Reference for the Project Support Fund
c) Establishment of D-8 Research Center
d) Establishment of D-8 Clearing House
e) Establishment of D-8 University
f) Decision-making process
g) Possible enlargement of D-8

The Council emphasized on the active engagement of the private sector and partnership with other relevant international and regional organizations for capacity building and experience sharing.
The President of D-8 Chambers of Commerce and Industry (D-8 CCI), Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu addressed the Council and informed that the Statute of the D-8 Chambers of Commerce and Industry has been finalized.

The next Council of Ministers meeting will be held in late 2019 or early 2020 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
