Dato’ Wan Latiff Wan Musa, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), expressed his keen interest and willingness to partner with the D-8 in order to promote the cause of trade promotion among the D-8 Member States. Ambassador Dato Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, the D-8 Secretary-General, Met Dato Wan at the latters office in Kuala Lumpur on 05 March 2018 to discuss prospect for cooperation.
Ambassador Ku Jaafar expressed his happiness at meeting the Deputy CEO and informed him of the new vision and ideas to be pursued to make the Organization more active, efficient and effective. The Secretary-General conveyed that the Secretariat was working in full swing to implement the vision set by the Organizations leaders at the successful 9th Summit held in October 2017 in Istanbul. He sought support from MATRADE so that visibility of the D-8 along with business networking within the D-8 Member States is enhanced.
They discussed participation in the upcoming MIHAS fair in Kuala Lumpur in April 2018 and the possibility of permanent collaboration for the D-8 to attend the MIHAS on a regular basis.
Mr. Ahmad Dzuhri, Managing Director, Mr. Mohammad Aminuddin Sham Tajudin, Director, and Mr. Kazi Ziaul Hasan, Director (D-8 Secretariat) were present during the meeting.
