The D-8 Secretary-General, Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi paid a farewell visit to the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), H.E Mr. Rifat Hisarc?kl?o?lu, on 18th December, 2017 at the latter’s office in ?stanbul.

  

Dr. Mousavi expressed his gratitude to the TOBB in general and to Mr. Rifat in particular, for the effective leadership and guidance over the years. He apprised the President about the decisions taken at the ninth D-8 summit which took place in October this year.  Dr. Mousavi reminded him that during the Chairmanship of the Republic of Turkey, TOBB would assume the presidency of the private sector of D-8 Member States within the framework of FCCI. He also underscored the fundamental role of private sector in economic cooperation and proposed that, as the Chairman of the D-8 FCCI, TOBB should consider hosting the Business Forum by inviting its counterparts from D-8 Member States.

Furthermore, the Secretary General stated that his tenure in office will expire on 31 December, 2017 and pointed out that since his assumption of office in January 2013, he has given special thrust to accelerating cooperation within the D-8 Community and increasing the visibility of the Organization.

In his response, Mr. Rifat commended Dr. Mousavi, the outgoing Secretary General for the excellent job that he did during his tenure and wished him resounding success in his future endeavours. He also promised to work hard with a view to taking the D-8 FCCI to the next level.
