The 9th Summit of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation will be held on 20th October 2017 in Istanbul. The Government of the Republic of Turkey has announced the date of the apex meeting today. 

The Summit will be preceded by the meetings of Council of Foreign Ministers and the Commission on 19 and 17-18 October 2017, respectively. Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi, the Secretary-General of the D-8, has expressed his deep appreciation to the government of the Republic of Turkey for confirming the date and venue for the Summit and his felicitation that this occasion will be marked with the gathering of the D-8 leadership in the historic city of Istanbul where the journey of the Organization began back in 1997.

Summit is the highest level of meeting where Heads of State/Government attend the meeting to review and formulate strategies for the Organization. The D-8 was established in 1997 with ‘Istanbul Declaration’ to promote the cause of eight of its Member States stretching the Continents of Asia, Europe and Africa.
