Dr. Hisham Al Alawi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Turkey, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi, the D-8 Secretary-General, at the D-8 Secretariat on 12 July 2016. 

During the meeting, the two interlocutors exchanged fruitful discussion on the development perspective and challenges facing the developing world. They also discussed ways and means to fostering economic ties and strengthen network in all areas of cooperation. 

Ambassador Alawi, appreciated the Secretary-General for his active and dynamic role in furthering the D-8 agenda. He noted that the D-8 was undertaking many activities in order to consolidate development cooperation. He hoped that these activities would pave grounds for the enhancement of the D-8 cooperation.

Dr. Mousavi appreciated Ambassador Alawi’s visit and his interest in the D-8. He informed the Ambassador of the history, membership and latest activities of the Organization.
