Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi, D-8 Secretary-General, called on Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia on 20 May 2015 at Putrajaya. 

Dr. Mousavi updated the Minister with the latest developments taking place within the D-8 Organization, particularly the five priority areas of cooperation namely trade, industry and SMEs, agriculture and food security, transportation and energy. He expressed confidence that Malaysia’s commitment with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation would continue to be more intensive than ever before and Malaysia might consider organizing and hosting more sectoral meetings related to these five priority sectors.  

Dr. Mousavi also viewed that continuous support from the Member States in furthering the common agenda is of prime necessity.  

The Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked the Secretary-General for the update and assured him of Malaysia’s engagement in furthering the vision and objectives of the Organization in order to contribute towards realization of the goal and target set by the Leaders of the D-8 Organization.
