Secretary-General calls on Prime Minister of Bangladesh

D-8 Secretary-General Dr. Seyed AliMohammad Mousavi called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 26 August 2014 at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Dr. Mousavi expressed confidence that her dynamic and visionary leadership would consolidate her commitments towards the people of Bangladesh as well as bring about more prosperous changes in the country and beyond. He also mentioned that her very able and visionary statesmanship would take Bangladesh to a new height of excellence in all strata of development. He expressed confidence that Bangladesh’s engagement with the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation would continue to be more intensive than ever before and Bangladesh’s role as the esteemed member of the Organization would be expanded to a level that may contribute to gaining the maximum benefit from this forum for our peoples.
Mousavi informed the Prime Minister of the latest developments taking place within the Organization and conveyed that the Secretariat was working in full swing to implement the vision set by the Organization’s leaders. He sought her support and guidance in furthering the common agenda to consolidate the partnership among the Member States. 
Prime Minister Hasina thanked the Secretary-General for the update and assured him of all cooperation. She said that Bangladesh as the founding member of the Organization remained committed and active in furthering the vision and objectives of the Organization in order to contribute to the uplift of life and living standards of the peoples of the region. She commended the work of the Organization and encouraged the Secretary-general to continue his pursuit of development cooperation.
