Bangladesh is a key trade partner for Turkey in Textile and clothing

Bangladesh was Turkey’s 86th largest goods export market in 2012.
 
Turkish exports to Bangladesh in 2012 reached $214 million, up 62% ($132 million) from 2011.
The following were the top export categories (2 digit SITC) for 2012: Iron and steel ($98,8 million); Textile yarn and related products ($22,3 million); Machinery specialized for particular industries ($20,6 million); Cereals ($6,6 million); Chemical materials and products ($6,6 million). 
Imports
Bangladesh was Turkey’s 52nd largest supplier of goods imports in 2012.
Turkish goods imports from Bangladesh totaled $766 million in 2012, down 14,5% ($896 million) from 2011. 
The following were the top import categories (2-digit SITC) for 2012: Articles of apparel and clothing accessories ($537 million); Textile yarn and related products ($208 million); Non-metallic mineral manufactures ($7,5 million); Tobacco and tobacco manufactures ($3,5 million); Leather, leather manufactures ($2,6 million).
Trade Balance
Turkey’s trade deficit of goods with Bangladesh was 552,2 million in 2012, a 27,7% decrease (763.768) from 2011.
